The Seventh World Archaeological Congress is coming to Jordan. It will be held at the Dead Sea, Jordan in 2013.
CulTech is currently running a project under the International Rolex Award for Enterprise for Cultural Heritage (2008) in Petra. The project builds on the winning project for the creation of a Database and AIS (Archaeological Geographic Information System) for the Petra Monuments in Jordan. Petra is listed on the World Heritage List and won in 2007 the title of a New World Wonder. Its more than 2000 archaeological features suffer from heavy weathering and their documentation has been one of the main activities of the staff who currently work with CulTech. Two Conferences are being planned for the years 2010-2012 under the title of The Seventh and Eighth International Conferences On Science and Technology in Archaeology and Conservation. Negotiations are being conducted so that our possible partners for these events will be CIPA and WAC respectively.
We are very active in the International Association known as WATCH (World Association for The Protection of The Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage During Times of Conflict)
